I explore how apparel can better support the people who wear it. My work brings together functional apparel design, emerging technologies, and human-centered research to address challenges in fit, protection, comfort, and performance.

Designing for Human Performance

My design work explores how apparel can be engineered to support movement, protection, comfort, and performance. From three-dimensional body scanning and digital apparel technologies to pattern development and garment construction, I use design as both a research tool and a means of translating research into functional solutions.

Understanding Apparel Through People, Data, and Design

My research explores the relationships among people, apparel, technology, and the environments in which clothing is used. I draw on qualitative and quantitative methods, anthropometric assessment, 3D body scanning, digital apparel technologies, textile and garment testing, and design research to investigate complex apparel problems and translate findings into meaningful design solutions.

Creative Scholarship and Apparel Design

My creative practice gives me space to explore materials, techniques, aesthetics, and the possibilities of apparel beyond my primary research questions. Through garment design, textile experimentation, and material exploration, I use making as a way to think, investigate, and communicate.
